De merbau Twin-Plank is available in the following grade:
Common name: Merbau
Scientific name: Intsia spp. (I. bijuga, I. palembanica)
Other names: Kwila, Ipil
Colour: Has an organish-brown colour when freshly cut, which ages to a darker reddish-brown. Colour between boards can be highly variable.
Grain/texture: Has a fairly coarse textrure, with occasionally interlocking grain.
Workability: Glues and finishes well, though it can be difficult to saw due to gumming.
